frequently asked questions
How early should I book my session?
The sooner the better! I only book a limited number of sessions each month and they tend to fill up pretty quickly - so the sooner you reach out to me, the more likely you are to get your desired date! I need at least 3 to 4 weeks to plan all the details that goes into making your session amazing.
On what days do you schedule your session?
Sessions are scheduled for Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays during a very precise time of day. I tend to shoot mid morning or early afternoon, so your session may begin as early as 10:30am or as late as 3:30pm depending on your session type and daylight saving time.
How long will my session last?
It depends on the type of session you book. I block out 1.5 hours for graduate and lifestyle sessions while senior sessions can last between 2 to 3 hours. It's important to me to not rush through your session so that we can spend time capturing a variety of poses and authentic moments to ensure you have a tone of options to choose from.
What kind of locations do you shoot at?
I have a variety of urban and nature-type settings all around the Birmingham and surround areas. I’m known for my unique locations and tend to stay away from photographer “hotspots” so don’t be alarm if we roll up on an abandon building or such. I use specific locations to ensure the best quality of life and make sure there are no complications shoot day.
If you have ideas for your session, or have a location already in mind, I would LOVE to hear about it (travel fee may apply)!! I work at so many different locations, and are always looking for new ones.
I have no idea what to wear. Will you help me?
I got you covered (no pun intended)! I have a Pinterest board full of inspiration for you to browse and would be happy to put together a custom Pinterest board to guide our photoshoot . You can’t go wrong with bold colors that compliment your skin tone and layers. Pay close attention to fit and comfort. You’ll be moving a lot and you don’t want your outfits to restrict your pose variety.
Can I use my own makeup artist or do it myself?
I highly recommend using my preferred stylists who are proficient in high definition camera ready makeup making for a flawless editing process. However, you are welcome to use your own stylist or DIY. Please note re-shoots will not be schedule do to unflattering HMUA if you use your own stylist or DIY.
What happen if it rains?
If it looks like it's going to rain or some other weather catastrophe, we'll be in touch via email or text to reschedule. I have rain check days built into my schedule and we will work together to get yours session reschedule ASAP.
Can I bring my mom or friend?
Of course! Friends and family can be so much fun on location. Many times, they help you to relax and forget the camera is there. I do recommend that you bring no more than 1-2 people and be warn I will put them to work. LOL.
